About Les Sirènes Female Chamber Choir Christmas Concert

A Christmas Celebration with BBC Choir of the Year winners.

The Herald Angels of the 21st century - Scottish all-female choir Les Sirenes - host their annual Christmas celebration concert in the beautiful Glasgow Mackintosh Church on Friday 8th December.

Having won the prestigious BBC Choir of the year competition in 2012, the choir have recently reached the semi-finals of the Europe-wide choral competition “Let the Peoples Sing”, and released a CD of Shakespeare-inspired works with Albion records.

The concert features Scottish premieres of stunning new works by female composers Sarah Quartel and Cecilia McDowall alongside festive favourites and Christmas classics.

Home-grown talent includes Royal Conservatoire of Scotland student Karla Grant who recently represented Scotland at the Junior Kathleen Ferrier Competition, “We have some amazing new pieces that I can’t wait to share with our audience, the Christmas concert is always so special and I know that this year will be no different!”

Described as ‘spellbinding’ by Aled Jones, and with a varied festive programme spanning the ages, it’s the perfect start to the Christmas season!

Mackintosh Church at Queen’s Cross, Fri 8th Dec, 7:30pm.
Tickets £10/£6 concessions, available from the Royal Conservatoire Box Office:
